Unity announcing 2D tools

the 3D game development environment will now also supports 2D

The game development platform Unity will - with the upcoming Unity 4.3 release - include tools for developing 2D games. The new tool set will include the following features:

- integrated 2D physics engine - Box2D
- the Animator will have 2D capabilities
- a new 2D Sprite type, with an editor that will atlas 2D graphics
- animation window with the 'Dopesheet' style view

Wow. Just wow. Also, this will probably be death for the Unity 2D Toolkit from Unikron. I feel bad for them.
... and I guess all the other 2D game dev tools will be pissed too.
